Anybody who has tried to shoot swallows, at rest or in flight, knows how active these little birds are. We hung around one area along the marsh boardwalk where they were congregating and building nests, and just waited for an opportunity. We were very fortunate to have a few of them pose on cattails, sometimes for several minutes, before taking off, and I was able to get a number of shots.
