Our guide, Marco, was extremely excited when he found this rare species perched under a bridge near where we were starting a hike to explore one part of the Tapanti National Park.  The Lancebill was extremely cooperative in terms of staying perched for long periods of time, but there was very little available light, which made shooting difficult.  I tried various combinations of ambient light, fill-flash, and full-flash, with each method having its own strengths and limitations.  I liked this one the best, although being shot at ISO 3200 necessitated some time in Photoshop to deal with the noise.
