Redbellied Woodpecker

There is actually an interesting story associated with this shot. There was a pair of Redbellied Woodpeckers who almost constantly hung around this tree, and there was a Starling who had apparently occupied the nest inside the hole. I don't know whose nest it was originally, but suspect the Starling was the intruder. There were a few physical fights between the birds, on the rare occasions when the Starling would come out. If anybody knows more about this type of behavior, please email me. Canon 100-400 at 400mm, ISO 100, f/5.6 and 1/100 second (hand-held).
