We were able to see perhaps 3 or 4 sperm whales during this whale-watching trip, getting reasonably close to them. We could see them at the surface, see and hear them spouting as they breathed, and finally were able to see and shoot the fluke as it prepared for a deep dive. This was a pretty impressive sight, but there was never an opportunity to glimpse much more of their body than what barely broke the surface of the water. As the next shot will show, there were some other active and interesting subjects around.
