Great Egret (Dark) (I.D. courtesy of Peter May)

This is one of the few shots I took at Cape Romain. There was a path between two ponds, with a few birds on either side. As indicated before, the conditions here were very buggy, and I inadvertently underexposed this shot. As I played with it, though, I decided I preferred the dark, silhouette-type effect, and tried to edit with this in mind. Canon 100-400, 1.4x II TC, at 560 mm, ISO 200, f/11, 1/1000 second, Monopod/Arca-Swiss Ballhead/Wimberley Sidekick (aperture priority/center-weighted metering, manual focus).
