The previous evening, we were at one of the overlooks at Grand Teton, where a number of people were out watching the deer, looking for wolves or grizzlies, etc. We spoke with one gentleman who was a frequent visitor, and he asked if we had seen the Harlequin Ducks that frequent the LeHardy Rapids. We told him we hadn't, and made this a stop on our itinerary the next morning. Sure enough, they were right where he said they'd be, and we spent an hour or so watching and shooting them. The light was pretty harsh, and I wished we had been able to get there earlier in the morning, but circumstances wouldn't allow it.
