This was taken on our last day of shooting. We had left Glacier, and would be staying at the Kalispell Grand Hotel overnight, leaving for home early the next morning. We arrived there relatively early in the day, and hated to call it quits. So we checked some maps, and found mention of the Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge, about an hour to the south. We drove down there, and were disappointed to find very little to shoot. As we were about to get on the main road to head back to the hotel, we spotted a number of Yellow-headed Blackbirds in a fairly picturesque setting. I got out, and enjoyed trying to get a few shots of these beautiful birds.
